Race Report  

Practice

I left late Saturday night for the short 4hr drive to the track. I hooked up with a couple of buddies who offered me a bed for the night in there camper.

Around 3am the heavens opened and it started raining hard.

Torrential rain played a big part in the preparation and running of this race.

Practice was postponed an hour until the rain and storm had passed through.

As soon as practice started it was clear this was going to be an awesome race.

I love riding in the mud and felt good sliding around and actually found it to be very easy to ride.

All I had to do was get a good start......

I went through 4 tear-offs by the 3rd corner... and I only put 4 on.

The Race

I lined my bike up on the start line and hoped for the best, there was a huge muddy puddle not more than 50ft off the start.

As my line started I got a good jump but got blinded by the watery roost of the other riders.

I came through in around 8th and by lap 1 I was up to 3nd, I pushed on until I the 4th place rider came up behind me and I mistakenly let him by.

I did not see his number and realized I just dropped to 4th.

I pushed on and tried to pass him on a slippery corner but went down, I remounted and pushed on but could only manage a 4th place.

 This was a great race to ride in, but I need to start concentrating on what's ahead of me and not who`s behind me.
