I fitted the Rekluse clutch today, boy the instructions leave a lot to be desired. Unfortunately I am one of those people that always questions what I see, even if its correct it doesn't look right to me.
Exhibit "A" My, Lord.....why does the outer clutch assembly wobble around like that?...
It took me about an hour to fit the clutch and 3 freaking hours on the computer just to put my mind at rest my $500 clutch wont explode at the first corner.
Thank god for message boards and the online motocross community.
I ordered the Factory Rekluse clutch cover as it adds some distance between the clutch and the outer cover in case anything ever does ever come loose.

According to Rekluse it also adds oil volume but they don't say how much.
When I get it I plan on laying both the original Honda cover next to it face down and pouring a measured amount of water from a measuring jug just to see how much extra gearbox oil I can safely add . Place your bets...
I will also fit the Rekluse perch adjuster so I can adjust the clutch from the seat.
The clutch cover should be delivered by next week. They sent me an email saying they have a new lower price down from $139 to $119. ..cool, thanks Rekluse.

One week goes by....
I just got the clutch cover delivered today, compared to the original one it looks to be much thicker unit, real nice looking cover, anodized black, yummy.
I was eager to see if it did hold more oil than the stocker.
I placed both clutch covers on a flat level surface and filled them both up with water level with the top of each cover.
I then poured the contents one at a time into a scientifically calibrated Publix measuring jug.
Behold the truth...
They hold the same amount, no difference at all. even though the Rekluse cover is deeper than the stocker it is actually twice as thick. Don't ask me how but it should hold more ...it just doesn't.
EXACTLY 550cc of water fills each cover to the top.
Tip.. Rekluse says to re-use the stock rubber "oh" ring gasket, When I tried to fit it into the new cover it kept falling out, remedy? l
ay the O-ring flat on a cloth and spray it with spray photo mount glue, that will keep it in place perfectly so you don't damage it.
Done!
